Researchers within Greater Manchester can apply for up to £10,000 in funding to support neuroscience research.

Health Innovation Manchester, through its Manchester Academic Health Science Centre (MAHSC) Neuroscience Research Domain, is inviting researchers to apply for funding to support a specific piece of research or pilot data collection.

The awards are designed to pump-prime small or pilot research projects intended to drive new and developing research collaborations and result in grant applications.

The projects should focus on one of the neuroscience domain’s themes, including:

  • Neurology
  • Neurorehabilitation
  • Neuro-oncology
  • Neuropsychology
  • Neuroimaging
  • Paediatric neurology and neurosurgery
  • Adult inherited metabolic disorders
  • Neuroimmunology
  • Stroke
  • Dementia

Awards can be used to cover the direct costs of carrying out research, including lab costs, imaging, data and digital costs, and access to research support. Applications that are supported by matched funding from another source are welcome. Applications for clinical PA funding will not be supported via this scheme.

Applicants should be working in an established research institution or NHS organisation within the Greater Manchester area.

Deadline for submission via email to Natalie.garratt@Srft.nhs.uk, is 14 February 2020.

The Neuroscience research domain is delivered by Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Group.
