COVID-19 Secondary Uses Oversight and Scrutiny Group
Providing oversight of secondary uses of data from the GM Care Record
The purpose of the GM COVID-19 Secondary Uses Oversight and Scrutiny Group is to provide transparency to data controllers, the public and wider health and care system stakeholders about how data contained within the GM Care Record is used to support service planning, analytics, population health management and research.
The group meets every two weeks to consider whether or not proposed uses for the data are appropriate, benefit patients and services, are COVID-19 related and fall within the agreed parameters.
It is chaired by Dr Kiran Patel, GP and Medical Director at the Bury GP Federation.
