Health Innovation Manchester named finalist for two HTN Now digital health tech awards 2022

Health Innovation Manchester has been named among the finalists for two HTN Now Awards 2022.

Guy Lucchi, Digital Innovation Director for Health Innovation Manchester (HInM) and Chief Digital Officer for Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership (GMHSC Partnership), is shortlisted for the “Health Tech Leader of the Year” award.

Over the past two years, Guy has accelerated delivery of vital digital developments to improve patient care, led the digital response to COVID-19 and has leveraged funding to improve digital maturity across primary care and NHS providers.

In his joint role for HInM and GMHSC Partnership, he is accountable for shaping GM’s digital strategy and driving digital transformation across GM, as well as unlocking the potential of innovation by bringing the power of digital solution from industry and academia to bear to improve the health outcomes of GM’ s 2.8m population.

Guy is passionate about ensuring maximum benefits are delivered through technology but recognises that tech alone will not solve the problem. He has developed an innovative digital transformation method that includes having a deep understanding of the patient, their journey and service operating models to ensure digital solutions are truly transformative.

The Greater Manchester Care Record (GMCR) has also been shortlisted for the “Supporting Healthcare Teams’ Response to COVID-19” award.

At the start of the pandemic, development and use of the GMCR was accelerated to support the city-region’s response to the pandemic and to build on borough-based care records to create a single joined-up care record for all of GM and its 2.8m citizens. Rapid progress was made in weeks, rather than months, as part of the digital response plan and collaborative effort.

Since then, the GMCR has become a major digital resource for the area with almost 14k frontline users accessing the record to support care for almost 150k patients each month (Nov. 2021). The GMCR is a partnership between the GM Health and Social Care Partnership, the 10 GM localities, Health Innovation Manchester and technology provider Graphnet.

The HTN Now awards help to share and celebrate digital teams, programmes, innovations and health tech suppliers that have made a difference through the year.

The winners will be announced live from 7pm on 20 January 2022, via the HTN website.
