Could your innovation change the NHS?

The Innovation Pathway including culture, ideas. intellectual property, markets, finance, clinical trials, health economics, evaluation, commercialisation, adoption, brokering and success

Today the AHSN Network has launched a new digital gateway for innovators, streamlining access to vital support from teams of experts across the country who can help companies deliver innovations that improve health and wealth for the NHS and care sector.

The new Innovation Exchange digital gateway is specifically tailored for innovators, providing insights from NHS teams on the big challenges they face, case studies sharing innovator success stories and links to key players in the health innovation sector.

Businesses can find all of the AHSN Network’s top advisors in our new directory as well the latest national and regional funding opportunities from a wealth of sources, all in one place.

The Innovation Exchange is an ongoing body of work being carried out by all 15 regional AHSN teams, including Health Innovation Manchester, in response to a commission from the Office of Life Sciences.

Last year (April 2018 – April 2019), the AHSN Network Innovation Exchange supported 2,605 companies with 3,630 innovations.

In addition:

  • 164 companies entered into long term strategic partnerships with AHSNs;
  •  603 companies have been supported by more than one AHSN;
  • 691 jobs have been created;
  • 188 jobs have been safeguarded and;
  • £152 million of investment has been leveraged.

Now the AHSN Network are building on this work, making it easier to find the right support, and looking for new talent.

The digital gateway is part of a wider AHSN-coordinated approach to identify, select and support the adoption of innovations which have the potential to transform the lives of patients.

The AHSN Network Innovation Exchange podcast is also newly available via the new portal and on iTunes. In this first episode, our host Dr Hasan Chowhan discusses Healthy Ageing with the NHS Clinical Director for Older People, Martin Vernon, and we hear from innovators from around the country with an array of life-changing solutions.
