North West Regional PSIRF Implementation Collaborative: Learning Session 2
Totally Wicked Stadium, St Helens, WA9 3AL
To support the implementation of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF), key partners across the North West region, who are commissioned around the first 3 phases have collaborated to offer a series of 4 events between November 2022 and April 2023. These are the NHS England recognised events for supporting your implementation of PSIRF so please do prioritise attending them as you will gain knowledge, insight and support for your own team .
The events will feature speakers from PSIRF early adopter sites, NHSE’s Patient Safety team, Health Education England and ICS based workshops to support PSIRF preparation.
PSIRF will replace the current Serious Incident Framework 2015 The framework represents a significant shift in the way the NHS responds to patient safety incidents and is a major step towards establishing a safety management system across the NHS It is a key part of the NHS patient safety strategy The PSIRF supports the development and maintenance of an effective patient safety incident response system that integrates four key aims:
- Compassionate engagement and involvement of those affected by patient safety incidents
- Application of a range of system based approached to learning from patient safety incidents
- Considered and proportionate responses to patient safety incidents
- Supportive oversight focused on strengthening response system functioning and improvement
Participants from all acute, community, mental health and ambulance providers from across the North West’s 3 Integrated Care Systems as well as the Integrated Care Boards, are invited to take up 4 places each at this FREE series of events. We are particularly keen to see the following roles represented at the events
- Senior Responsible Officers for PSIRF
- Implementation leads for PSIRF
- Quality Improvement leads
- Patient engagement leads
- Chief Nurses
