MMPathIC Showcase 2020

Manchester - Venue TBC

Celebrating MMPathIC’s achievements and learn about future plans and opportunities, in partnership with DiTA

Manchester Molecular Pathology Innovation Centre (MMPathIC) is an MRC/ EPSRC-funded molecular pathology node, established in 2015 to facilitate the translation of biomarkers into clinically usable tests that could improve and speed up the process of diagnosing, predicting and identifying the best treatment for a particular disease. Over its lifetime, MMPathIC has built a national and international reputation as a unique facility supporting academic and industrial biomarker discovery, development and validation.

The Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) Diagnostics and Technology Accelerator (DiTA) is led by a diverse multidisciplinary team of clinicians and methodologists. Directed by Professor Rick Body, Professor and Honorary Consultant in Emergency Medicine, DiTA catalyses the generation of evidence for commercially supplied in vitro diagnostics (IVDs) and medical technologies.

Going forward, as the UKRI funding finishes, MMPathIC and DiTA activities will integrate and produce a full-service pipeline of development support from discovery (with Stoller Biomarker Discovery Centre), support for in-house developed tests, and early-stage lab validation, verification and economics modelling (MMPathIC), through to late-stage clinical evaluation and economic effectiveness evidence in a close to real-world setting for commercially supplied products (DiTA).

You are invited to the MMPathIC Showcase 2020 which will provide an overview of past and current activities, future strategy, and the future opportunities available to researchers, clinicians, and industry.

This event will:

  • Be a celebration of MMPathIC’s achievements
  • Introduce future plans, in partnership with DiTA
  • Highlight the unique offer of the planned MMPathIC/ DiTA initiative
