Masterclass – Assessment and Feedback

Postgraduate Hub - Stopford building, The University of Manchester.

Delivered by Dr Harish Thampy, GP & Senior Clinical Lecturer, Division of Medical Education, University of Manchester.

This interactive session will open with a plenary presentation on the concept of ‘programmatic assessment’ and will introduce recent thinking and evidence on this topic. Thereafter, participants will take part in a series of small group stations focussing on different aspects of assessment and feedback. The stations are delivered by invited presenters from across the Faculty and topics include: assessment of professionalism, assessment of behaviour and practice (assessing capability beyond knowledge and skills), feedback approaches and a guide to blueprinting and sampling for aligned assessments.

On completion of attending this session participants should be able to

  • Understand the concept of programmatic assessment and consider how this could be potentially applied to participants’ own programmes.
  • Through small group discussions, explore and share ideas and experiences relating to specific assessment and feedback topics.

Refreshments will be provided. Please register for this event.
