MAHSC Seminar Series: Advancing the science of implementation

Manchester Academic Health Science Centre (MAHSC), part of Health Innovation Manchester, brings together world leading academic and NHS partners to drive health research forward.

The MAHSC Seminar Series will showcase the great discovery and clinical science being undertaken within Manchester and its impact on the health of the local population.

The series will give a local platform to the nationally and internationally renowned scientists of MAHSC, to share their work with clinical, non-clinical and university colleagues but also crucially members of the wider community seeking insight into innovations in the delivery of healthcare.

In the first seminar of this year, held on 27th January 2021, our speakers discussed: ‘Advancing the science of implementation’. Professor Dame Nicky Cullum – Professor of Nursing, Director of the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration for Greater Manchester, The University of Manchester chaired the event. We were joined by Paul Wilson – Senior Lecturer Implementation Sciences, The University of Manchester and Dr Roman Kislov – Reader in Organisation Structures, Manchester Metropolitan University.

Dr Roman Kislov spoke about engaging with implementation science: theories strategies and ways of thinking. When asked about resources and implementation expertise Dr Kislov said:  “We are very lucky to have, in this region, Health Innovation Manchester, which is specifically focusing on supporting researchers who want to have their innovations implemented across Greater Manchester.”
