NHS Greater Manchester celebrates two shortlistings for HSJ Digital Awards 2025

Health Innovation Manchester, NHS Greater Manchester, and Greater Manchester Primary Care Board are thrilled to announce its shortlisting for the GM Care Record in the Connecting Health and Social Care through Digital category, and the Digital First Primary Care Programme in the Improving Primary Care through Digital category at the HSJ Digital Awards 2025, a recognition of its dedication to pioneering digital solutions that are shaping the future of healthcare across the UK.

This year marks a milestone  for the HSJ Digital Awards, with a record-breaking 432 entries submitted.  Each shortlisted project demonstrates remarkable ingenuity, passion, and transformative impact in digital health.

The HSJ Digital Awards shine a light on teams and organisations driving meaningful change through technology, improving patient outcomes, streamlining processes, and enhancing the overall quality of care. Being shortlisted is a testament to Greater Manchester’s commitment to innovation and excellence in digital healthcare.

Gareth Thomas, Digital Innovation Director at Health Innovation Manchester and NHS Greater Manchester said, “We are honoured to be shortlisted for these prestigious awards. This recognition reflects the dedication and passion of our Digital Transformation teams, and the strength of collaboration with our partners across Greater Manchester. There are hundreds of staff in general practice, hospitals,  out of hours teams, specialist nurses, district nurses, mental health and social care teams who have led change for the better, with a positive impact upon the quality of patient care and patient experience”.

Malcolm Whitehouse CBE, Chief Digital Information Officer at NHS Greater Manchester said, “This is a huge boost and recognition for our programme and product teams, who support the evolving use and expansion of our care record in multiple care setting, evidencing the impact of these digital programmes in transforming the experiences of clinicians and patients in Greater Manchester. Our Digital First Primary Care work is a building block for the strategic shift towards proactive well being for patients in neighbourhoods and communities.”  

The winners will be revealed at the HSJ Digital Awards ceremony on 26 June 2025, a night dedicated to celebrating the brightest minds and most impactful projects in digital health.
