Health Innovation Manchester to sponsor digital health course for Registered Health Care Professionals in Greater Manchester
Health Innovation Manchester is delighted to announce the sponsorship of two places on a digital health course at The University of Manchester.
The online course entitled “Digital Health & Technology Enabled Care” aims to introduce health care professionals to the range of existing and emerging technologies used in health and care, along with an increased understanding of the benefits, limitations, and risks of these digital tools across care settings.
Health Innovation Manchester recognises the importance of boosting digital capability in Greater Manchester’s health and care system, and to enable this we are sponsoring two places, valued at £1300 each. Applications are invited from staff who are looking to increase their knowledge of digital health to benefit both patients and the organisation that they represent.
Dr. Paula Bennett Chief Nurse / CNIO at Health Innovation Manchester said: “I’ve seen first-hand how digital tools and technology have helped our workforce on the frontline and I am optimistic about its role in shaping health care in the future. It’s critical that health and care staff are aware of the benefits and appropriate use of technology and that they can apply the emerging evidence base to their services and the patients and families in their care. I am delighted to be able to launch this sponsorship – helping to boost the digital capability of the next generation of health care professionals in Greater Manchester”.
Applicants must:
- Be employed by a Greater Manchester health and care organisation
- Have current registration with a relevant professional, statutory or equivalent regulatory body
- Be working in a clinical role delivering technology enabled care; for example Virtual Wards
- Have the support of their employer
- Meet the University of Manchester course entry requirements
Applications should be made on the form below before the closing date of Wednesday 16th November 2022. Successful applicants will be told by 25th November 2022 in order to give them time to apply for the module within the required timescales.
The course will be delivered 100% online through live and recorded classes, starting the week commencing 30th January 2023. This will run for a duration of 11 weeks, including a two-week break over Easter.
Upon completion of the course, the successful applicants will be asked to write a blog for Health Innovation Manchester based on their experiences, what they have learnt and how they will be applying their new knowledge in practice. Health Innovation Manchester will also look to keep in touch with the two participants, to see how their digital health career progresses.
