Health Innovation Manchester appoints Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell as Global Ambassador to drive innovation and industry partnerships
Health Innovation Manchester (HInM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell as Global Ambassador. Dame Nancy, who brings an unparalleled breadth of expertise in health, science, and leadership, has accepted this prestigious new position.
As Global Ambassador, Dame Nancy will play a vital role in advancing HInM’s strategy to position Greater Manchester (GM) as a world leader in health innovation and life sciences and establishing GM as a learning hub for introducing novel innovations at scale to attract global partnerships and investments.
Dame Nancy’s career includes her most recent role as President and Vice-Chancellor of The University of Manchester as well as being a former board member for HInM. She has also served as a non-executive director at AstraZeneca, co-chair of the Council for Science and Technology, President of the Royal Society for Science and Technology, and Chair of the Russell Group of universities. Her vast experience will be instrumental in shaping and promoting HInM’s goals on both national and international stages.
As part of her ambassadorial role, Dame Nancy will work to enhance the global profile of HInM by actively engaging with global pharmaceutical, med-tech, and technology partners to foster industry relationships. She will work closely with The University of Manchester, other GM universities, and UK government bodies to harness their expertise to support projects.
Commenting on her appointment, Dame Nancy said, “I am thrilled to take on this role with Health Innovation Manchester. The organisation’s commitment to transforming healthcare through innovation aligns with my own passion for improving the health and wellbeing of communities. I also look forward to contributing to the continued growth of GM.”
