Health Innovation Manchester (HInM) has confirmed the latest appointment to its executive leadership team with Dr. Vish Mehra joining as the new Chief Medical Officer (CMO).

Vish has worked across Greater Manchester for more than 25 years and brings extensive experience in clinical leadership, system transformation, and innovation at scale. As a GP for over 18 years, he combines his ongoing clinical work in one of Manchester’s most diverse communities with senior leadership roles across primary care and the wider health system.

As Partner Member for Primary Care on the NHS Greater Manchester Board, he provides strategic leadership and ensures the voice of general practice is represented in decision-making across the system.

Vish was also founding director and Chair of the Central Manchester GP Federation, where he led the creation of one of England’s first extended access services and the pioneering use of shared digital records that later informed national policy.  He is currently Chair of both the Manchester Local Medical Committee and Manchester GP Board, but will step down from these roles to join HInM.

As CMO, Vish will be responsible for clinical leadership at HInM and will be instrumental in fostering collaboration across the GM health and care clinical landscape. Vish will also support HInM’s industry engagement with clinical expertise and providing senior clinical leadership across the organisation. Maintaining trust in healthcare data governance and upholding the integrity of patient information across GM will also be central to the role.
