Innovation 2026
ExCeL London - UK, Royal Victoria Dock, London
Co-hosted by the UK Government, UK Civil Service and the Cabinet Office, Innovation is a unique exhibition and conference that brings together government leaders from across the globe responsible for the transformation and acceleration of their public sector organisations and services.
The government’s landmark 10-year plan for the NHS in England has set the vision for seizing the opportunities of new technologies, medicines and innovations to deliver better care for all patients.
As part of the Innovation 2026 event programme, Global Government Forum is bringing together leaders from across the NHS and wider public sector to discuss how to achieve this plan.
Informed by Global Government Forum’s A Fresh Mandate for Digital Leadership in the NHS report, these sessions will explore how to foster a step-change in digital leadership across the NHS by addressing persistent challenges and leveraging opportunities for a digitally enabled health service.
Ben Bridgewater will speak on Reducing digital fragmentation in healthcare.
A major finding of GGF’s A Fresh Mandate for Digital Leadership in the NHS study was that fragmentation must be addressed as a priority if the NHS is to advance digital transformation.
This session will explore how to tackle disconnected systems and closed interfaces that lock health data in silos, including the role of technical standards and how to better use the power of procurement.
It will discuss the balance between centralisation and autonomy to ensure innovation and interoperability, and look at how healthcare providers and private sector innovators can partner effectively to understand each other’s needs and deliver impact at scale.
