2025 has been a landmark year for the GM Care Record (GMCR) Product Team, whose dedication and innovation have driven real improvements for health and care professionals across Greater Manchester.

Meet the Team Behind the Success

The GMCR Product Team – Racheal Jackson (GMCR Senior Product Manager), Jacqui Jones, Farah Irfan-Khan, and Christian Kiwewa – are the unsung heroes of the GM Care Record’s success. Their collaborative approach has empowered over 600 organisations and thousands of users to deliver safer, more effective care.

Here are just 8 of their key achievements in 2025

1. Launch of New Dashboards

• Developed a bespoke, interactive GM-wide EPaCCS dashboard, a vital tool supporting end-of-life care coordination.
• Rolled out and supported new dashboards for Sodium Valproate and Topiramate, enhancing medication safety and monitoring.

2. EPaCCS (Electronic Palliative Care Coordination System) Programme Support

• Supported the creation of the GMCR EPaCCS toolkit, and delivered dedicated training for Out-of-Hours teams, hospices, and EPaCCS Champions.
• Led training sessions across Bury, Bolton, and other localities, ensuring frontline staff are confident and capable.

3. GMCR v4: A Major Upgrade

• Successfully tested, validated, and deployed GMCR version 4, switching over 600+ organisations with minimal disruption.
• Released over 30 new training resources, including user guides and videos, to support the transition.

4. Expanding Training and Engagement

• Trained 4,666 users in the past year, with user numbers rising from 23,273 (Oct 2024) to 28,041 (Oct 2025) a month.
• Launched a GMCR Product Team YouTube channel, now featuring nearly 50 videos on popular features and functions.

5. User-Centred Improvements

• Established a GMCR User Group, with over 60 participants at the inaugural meeting.
• Streamlined processes for requesting BI accounts and work requests, and enhanced the EPaCCS form for easier updates.
• Regularly shared usage stats and updates with operational groups and users.

6. Integrations and Innovation

• Integrated with GP Connect, PACS Viewer, Docobo, and prepared to onboard new partners like Francis House and MFT clinical documents.
• Continued to expand the GMCR’s reach and utility for clinicians and patients alike.

7. Clinical Safety and Quality

• Addressed several clinical safety issues during the GMCR v4 deployment, thanks to comprehensive testing and a robust feedback loop.
• Used post-go-live webinars to capture user feedback and monitor issues in real time.

8. Product Backlog Progress

• Completed 44% of the GMCR Product Backlog (28 out of 64 items), delivering new features and enhancements that matter most to users.
