Working together with people and patients: NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre works
Working effectively with people and patients is essential to the work of the NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) and Clinical Research Facility (CRF) and key to achieving their aims of delivering world-leading research and reducing health inequality.
Manchester BRC has launched a new film to highlight how it listens to, involves and engages people and patients with lived experience to inform and bring new and vital perspectives to research.
Its vision is to connect people and patients with their research in a meaningful and inclusive way, with positive impact both on the research and on society.
The film highlights how the BRC works closely with the Public Programmes Team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust – an award-winning specialist unit established in 2003, advising on and delivering patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE), across Greater Manchester, nationally and internationally.
