Medilink North of England Healthcare Business Awards 2020

Health Innovation Manchester attended the Medilink North of England Healthcare Business Awards 2020, as one of three headline sponsors alongside The Innovation Agency and Yorkshire & Humber AHSN.

The awards, held in Manchester at the Lowry Hotel on Thursday 13 February, recognised businesses in health innovation with eight award categories on show during the event.

Health Innovation Manchester was the main sponsor of the Partnership with NHS Advanced in Digital Healthcare Award, which was won by National Pathology Exchange (NPEx), recognised for improving patient outcomes showing how digitisation can deliver huge cost-savings for the NHS.

The winners in five main categories will be automatically nominated for the Medilink UK National Healthcare Business Awards, which will take place at the Med Tech Innovation Expo in Birmingham in April.

Richard Deed, Associate Director of Industry at Health Innovation Manchester, said: “Our work portfolio is described under four main areas. Research, Industry Partnerships, Digital Transformation and Healthcare Deployment. While each of these areas and projects therein are important, we believe that the use of digital solutions to disrupt and transform the operating model of care provision is key to address the ever-growing health burden the country and the NHS faces. Consequently, we are particularly proud to sponsor the Partnership with the NHS: Advances in Digital Healthcare Award.”

Arjun Sikand, Associate Director of Commercial Partnerships at Health Innovation Manchester, said: “It’s always a pleasure to see that every year at the Medilink Awards not only the number of innovations but also the quality of innovations increases. It’s great that excellent work from the North is being recognised.”
