Once again, Health Innovation Manchester are excited to be participating in NHS Expo 2018, in collaboration with the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership and our other partners that constitute Greater Manchester’s Academic Health Science and Innovation System.

NHS Health and Care Innovation Expo 2018 will run for two days on 5 and 6 September 2018 at Manchester Central, and is the biggest NHS-led event in the calendar.

Expo is a unique celebration of innovation, enterprise and collaboration, uniting NHS and social care leaders, commissioners, clinicians, voluntary sector partners, innovators, industry leaders and more. It will feature more than 100 professionally-focused seminars and workshops, 190 exhibition stands and high profile speakers across two main stages.

In addition to exhibiting and supporting the AHSN Innovator Zone, Health Innovation Manchester have a packed agenda which includes pop-up-universities, main stage presentations and panel events to share ideas, knowledge and expertise, as well as debate the key challenges and issues facing the the NHS as we celebrate it’s 70th anniversary.

AHSN Innovator Zone

Health Innovation Manchester in partnership with the other 14 Academic Health Science Networks across England are once again delivering the Expo 2018 Innovator Zone. In the the innovator Zone will be showcasing some of the fantastic industry innovators that the AHSN are currently working with across England.

Pop-up University: Effective collaboration with the pharmaceutical industry
5 September, 17:15 – 18:15 (PUU2)

In 2017 Greater Manchester and the Association of British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) signed a UK landmark agreement focused on improving the use and safety of medicines and capitalising on NHS data and information to discover, develop, and deliver new medicines and treatments for patients.

Led by Professor Ben Bridgewater (Chief Executive, Health Innovation Manchester) and Eric Nordkamp (ABPI President and UK Managing Director of Pfizer) this session will explore the opportunities and challenges around NHS organisations working collaboratively with the Pharmaceutical industry – exploring the approach, successes and lessons learned in Greater Manchester, which can be replicated elsewhere.
