Cancer patients across Greater Manchester can benefit from free clinically approved mental health support until May 2023
Newly diagnosed cancer patients in Greater Manchester can now access free, safe, and instant mental health treatment, to help with insomnia and anxiety from the comfort of their own home.
Two app-based mental health treatments have been made available through a partnership between Macmillan Cancer Support and Big Health, providing access to high-quality mental health support to patients in England, Wales and Northern Ireland until May 2023.
Sleepio and Daylight have been launched by Macmillan Cancer support to help with insomnia and anxiety, offering tailored mental health support to the patient, featuring step-by-step guidance on the digital platforms.
These services are now available to newly diagnosed cancer patients across Greater Manchester, after receiving NICE approval in May 2022. Patients can access the treatments directly by visiting the following links:
The Innovation Commercial Partnerships team from Macmillan Cancer Support work to explore partnerships that can help to improve the delivery of care to patients across the health and social care system.
It is through this partnership that Health Innovation Manchester is now working directly with Macmillan Cancer Support and Greater Manchester Cancer, to improve the cancer pathway across Greater Manchester.
