Heart of the matter – Greater Manchester’s movement for cardiovascular health and wellbeing
Manchester City Football Club, Etihad Stadium, Etihad Campus, Manchester, M113FF, United Kingdom
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of disability and premature mortality and is intimately linked with causing, worsening and perpetuating health inequalities; making it a central issue diminishing the wellbeing and quality of life of many within Greater Manchester.
Prevention means keeping people well and cardiovascular disease prevention covers many areas from primary prevention and health checks, community outreach and engagement, to better caring for those we already know have high risk conditions and rehabilitating people back into life after a potentially life changing event.
NHS GM are pleased to host their first in person event focused entirely on cardiovascular disease prevention to help keep the momentum building and to showcase the fantastic cardiovascular disease related work taking place across organisations, areas and levels of the healthcare system.
They will shortly be asking for poster submissions of any cardiovascular disease prevention related quality improvement activities or case studies.
Should you be interested in hosting a stall at the event – please drop Michelle an email.
A full agenda will be circulated shortly. Until then, please register your place and start to consider what work you would like to show off to the rest of Greater Manchester. We are looking forward to meeting you so we can start to work better together in tackling to improve the lives of all who work and live in Greater Manchester. Afterall, cardiovascular disease prevention is everyone’s business.
*This event is being organised and facilitated by the Greater Manchester and Eastern Cheshire Cardiac Strategic Clinical Network
