AHSN Network and AGEWELL – Free international seminar: the role of robotics in supporting care for older adults
Webinar
The AHSN Network and AGEWELL Canada are hosting the third in a series of international Innovation Exchange seminars focused on healthy ageing.
The next seminar will highlight some of the opportunities and challenges of using Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS) in care and health settings, and how they might enable older people to live well independently.
RAS are making increasing impact in many sectors. While we are most familiar with industrial robots and factory automation, service robots, which includes systems for use in domestic, personal, and healthcare settings, is becoming one of the fastest growth areas.
Social care in Europe and North America is under unprecedented pressure due to our ageing population. This challenge will not be solved through technology alone, nevertheless, we have a history of responding effectively to such crises through creativity and invention. Innovation, including through advanced robotic and autonomous systems, can have an important role to play.
This seminar will provide delegates will highlight some of the opportunities and challenges of using RAS in care and health settings, and how they might enable older people to live well independently.
