Academic and Researcher Development: Critical Analysis of Research Papers

This course provides researchers with the tools required to successfully critically analyse the literature and will use example research papers from three types of study: quantitative, qualitative and clinical.
By attending this workshop, you will:
- Understand the process of critical analysis and the reasons this skill needs to be developed
- Appreciate the concept of publication bias
- Be able to search for the most appropriate papers to read
- Gain practical experience of analysing each section of a research paper including the abstract, introduction, methods, results and discussion
